The physical setting plays a very important role throughout the book and becomes reflective of the characters emotions. This reflection and influence of emotions is especially exposed by Victor and the monster who both share the love of nature. Scenic beauty and majestic nature brings happiness to Victor, gloomy and awful nature helped spur misery and shame. This correlation between nature and mood is also depicted by the monster, as he too felt lifted with clear and gentle nature but, felt misery and loneliness with turbulent nature. Nature and physical setting played an important role and had a direct relationship to the characters emotions and mood.
